The Nature Conservancy of Canada protects areas of biological diversity for their intrinsic value and for the benefit of future generations.

Grantee Profile

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) — like its US counterpart — conserves ecologically significant lands through outright purchase, donation, and legal agreements with land owners. Since 1962, it has secured over 1,400 properties and protected more than 1.8 million acres.  Friends of the Nature Conservancy of Canada is a U.S. public charity that acts as the fiscal sponsor for NCC for grants originating in the U.S.

About Our Grants

The Foundation's grants were directed in particular at land acquisition and activities on the eastern slopes of the Rockies in Southwestern Alberta, in particular the Crowsnest Pass, a critical corridor for wildlife movement that co-exists with a major highway and strenuous development pressure.
