Pro Mujer believes that health is women's most precious asset, a key to their wellbeing and success in the home, the workplace and their community.

Grantee Profile

Since the Woodcock Foundation’s earliest days, it has been a core belief that the empowerment of women is a crucial element in any serious effort to end poverty and create a more equitable world. The Pro Mujer women’s development and microfinance network also holds this as a core concept, and they now provide 210,000 of Latin America’s poorest women with financial services and business development training to initiate or improve their small businesses. Of particular note is their emphasis not just on business development but on heath education and access to health services for the women they serve and their families.
