RNSI's goal is to launch a nationally scaled social enterprise that is financially sustainable and has a positive and lasting impact on individuals living in poverty.

Grantee Profile

The Rubicon National Social Innovations project is an initiative of Rubicon Programs, an award-winning leader in the social enterprise field with over 25 years experience building effective social purpose businesses.  In 2007, Rubicon realized that for social enterprises to have a significant impact on poverty and wealth generation in the U.S., these businesses had to reach a much greater scale and national scope than had been achieved to date.  They created RNSI and launched the Innovating for Impact & Sustainability project to determine if the social enterprise model – sustainable businesses emphasizing social rather than financial returns – did in fact have the potential to scale up and have a national level of impact.
